World Poetry Day 2011 Recap

For those of you who weren’t tweeting along with me this year:

I could have haiku’d
all day, all day, all day long:
endless twittering.

Our poems: year ’round cake.
Having a day to share them:
delicious icing.

The end is coming
So sad, we count out meter
on World Poetry Day.

The day drags slowly.
Manager asks me “what’s up?
You have the pulse of it.”

This week’s bit of spring
is covered with snow
happy March Monday.

March madness is here.
Ask Robert Frost or a hare.
Spring comes when she wants.

The morning showed up.
Her surprising coat of snow
says – no Spring today.

I have enough thread
to quilt through any snowstorm.
Now let me stay home!

this week’s bit of Spring
is covered again with snow
happy March Monday!

the ghost of the snow
rises up from the March fields,
clinging to the earth.
