I’m taking this online class called “The Art of Silliness 3” which is a short exercise of some kind each day – often a bit of drawing or a visual puzzle or a photography assignment and just as often there’s a bit of a word game or haiku writing assignment too. If you wish you can post to a community Flickr site and it’s fun to see what other people come up with. I’m trying to keep this as it was advertised – a SHORT daily exercise and mostly I’ve been able to keep up with it and get my stuff posted as a way to keep me honest about it.
I’d not used flickr before but iPhoto can share to it which makes it very easy to upload photos. I have to say the generic Flickr (the one on top) avatar made me laugh when I saw it, so i had to make this photo, already in my iPhoto library as my own Flickr avatar (the one on bottom):
This was the funnest photo exercise to date: hold a camera at arms’ length, pointed at you, and shoot photos of yourself while spinning on a spot (do this in a public spot). I wasn’t in any public places but the results in my sewing room were great!
That one was good enough to use as a new profile photo on facebook lol. One of my other ones picked up a young bill cosby on TV because I Spy was on – very bizarre all in all.
So I don’t know if I’m any sillier after a few weeks of this, but it is a bit of fun every day.
