Actually, I am on my way from the kitchen back to the sewing machine, having off-loaded empty glasses and picked up newly-filled camelbak of refreshing beverage. This morning while having breakfast I remembered I’d marked this quote and so I’ll share it. Then it’s back to the quilt, having gotten to the part that looked messy but is turning out fine!
“Has every apprentice a teacher and a benefactor?” I asked to ease my turmoil.
“No, not every apprentice. Some do.”
“Why do some of them have both a teacher and a benefactor?”
“When an ordinary man is ready, power provides him with a teacher, and he becomes an apprentice. When the apprentice is ready, power provides him with a benefactor, and he becomes a sorcerer.”
Carlos Castaneda, Tales of Power
