Almost anything you do will seem insignificant, but it is very important that you do it. – Gandhi
Doesn’t that seem like great guidance in so many aspects of life? I’m thinking about using that in an appeal for volunteers for our quilt show NYQuilts! – yes, you might only be sitting at a table taking tickets for a couple hours but it’s so important to the whole show. Even more so, it’s so important to the people who organize the show to know that the show is important enough to you to give up some of your time for as well.
So even if you can only do a little bit of an apparently unimportant job, DO sign up to do it. Ask what needs to be done, whether for your favorite cause, your local school, a local charity, your community. No one is asking for a lifetime commitment — only that you do a little bit of the whole. If you can do that little bit on a regular basis – GREAT. If not it’s still a little bit that got done, and got done by you.
Thanks.
