The world is loud. It stands too close.
Its breath is heavy with old sleep.
I don’t really think the world is this way
but sometimes it’s just wearing
to hope for the shiny and fresh and friendly.
That part’s up to me to find:
a child, a blue sky with breezy clouds,
questions, grateful for answers.
I lean away from the sad and mean
back up from the anger and drama
not mine to fix it all – I can’t –
what can I do, remembering kindness?
Look, that cloud looks like a cat
and now it’s an umbrella floating away.
Seeking?
The Quote Box
Begin challenging your own assumptions. Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in awhile, or the light won’t come in.
