Blow me down!

The concert was just wonderful. Elvis Perkins was the opener. Great voice and guitar style, beautiful tunes with challenging lyrics.

Natalie was everything you could hope for unless you were counting on the Maniacs, lol. She did quite a number of pieces from her new recording out next month, where she set poems by others to music. Many of these are 19th century and had childhood themes.

What a voice! She had an upright bass, a cellist, two guitarists with her and she accompanied herself on piano at one point.

What a great night.

On weather-related blowing:

The wind howled all night and must have interrupted power at least once. The fire departments are running around presumably with poles and lines down. [edit: turns out it was a house fire on tsatsawassa lake road]

The old billboard just east of Nassau blew down. Looks like a bulldozer hit it one good.
