Seven days of April
noting what the world
is doing
and riffing human-style
with words
trying to tell you
of the changes —
the coming spring
the snows surprising
the little birds,
brisk clouds and wind
the world lays it all
out there to be seen
so while mindfulness
might be trendy
the world knows its
secrets belong
to the watchers, who,
pushing back wool caps
counting days of April
noting what the world
is doing, has done
is about to do
are standing at the ready.

I do the best I know how, the very best I can; and I mean to keep on doing it to the end. If the end brings me out all right, what is said against me will not amount to anything. If the end brings me out all wrong, ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference.

I love the line, “the world knows its \ secrets belong \ to the watchers”. Such a great write :-)
Thank you so much!
That is the line that I read twice when I came to it.
