Now and again
I plop my two dollars down
rather randomly
not looking for biggest payoff
I cast my money down
for speculative numbers.
I’ve yet to win.
Yet may last awhile.
It has so far.
What do I buy?
A few days’ dreaming:
where I’d build the little house
a studio in the back.
The scholarships for
middle-aged women who
should have gone to art school.
Let them take good classes,
or have the time to work.
Shelves for all my books,
Time to read them,
maybe while on a train.
A cat or two to bother
and a garden for us
to sit in the sun,
considering our luck.
Seeking?
The Quote Box
Fruits… like having their portrait painted. They seem to sit there and ask your forgiveness for fading. Their thought is given off with their perfumes. They come with all their scents, they speak of the fields they have left, the rain which has nourished them, the daybreaks they have seen.

Nice dreams. I hope you win big! You are my first NaPoWriMo read for 2018, hope you are a good omen.
Lovely and tender. Wish you well.
Nice read. I like all the things especially the scholarship for middle aged women that you’d do if you did win. I hope you do one of these days.
Wouldn’t that be cool?
I used to plan how to spend my winnings. Lately, I just don’t have the faith in winning any more. Good luck to you!
LOL I play very rarely and don’t get hung up about the losing, but I *do* enjoy that brief period of “what if”, for sure.
