weather, trends, time-bending

First off, welcome to the cold portion of winter. This is traditionally the coldest part of the winter around here. About 5F this morning without windchill about -5F including the windchill factor. Dress warm, stay aware, protect your exposed bits.

Second, I wandered into the sewing room last night and found myself sorting and putting away thread. Being a creature of habit, I flipped on the TV. Now, that was the first time in about 2 years that I’ve flipped on the tube other than to see a particular news story or something. Strangely, everything I saw was pretty much the same as I remembered from two years ago… which didn’t make me feel like I was missing anything.

I ended up audio-chatting with a friend. This seemed like a much better use of my time and resources (wtg 12″ powerbook and wifi!). I’m not sure how much noise sorting thread makes but I heard no complaints so I guess it was all ok. Eventually all my threads were either back into their containers by color or groups by spool size (ie, too big for containers) so they’ll be easier to use.

I also found stuff like: piles of ready-to-go label fabric, postcard materials and other goodies. And… several pairs of interestingly squashed eyeglasses (found in parking lot sort of thing), some jewelry bits (ditto), some containers of beads that had set up housekeeping on their own apart from the rest… Need I go on?

To be continued.
