Mid-May
In case you were thinking
that summer had arrived
and that your world now
steamy and filled with
tropical birds and plants,
welcoming the afternoon’s
torrential monsoon of rain
and rumbling thunder
while you sipped an iced
and fruity beverage
on the shady porch –
just in case that was you,
yesterday afternoon
on the mass-new york border
tonight, the mid-may forecast
has a frost warning in it.

The Quote Box
People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child—our own eyes. All is a miracle.

How true. I have had a sweater on all day. 84 or so one day. And frost warnings overnight up north.
