The Very Last Two Postcards

when I counted up all the cards I’d sent out it came up to ninety-eight and that seemed a shame. I had some US stamps left over because of the cards I’d sent out to other countries.

So, I decided to send out two more cards. August is over, rules (“we don’t need no stinkin’ rules, I tell ya!”) are out the window. I looked through the poems from the month, picked the two sonnets I liked most in first draft and sent them to a retired teacher who I’ve met through the library. No doubt this will confuse him but I hope he enjoys them!

One more trip to the mailbox. The other card is a “hope you’re feeling better” one, without even a haiku.
