NaHaiWriMo Day 19

The day started with a reply to my question yesterday: What shall we talk about this year? John, a former co-worker replied: The peanut is neither a pea nor a nut. Discuss.

Discuss: the peanut
Is not a nut nor a pea
But is quite tasty

The rest of the day was spent with my head in a box of Scotties which I guess is better than the problem of sinus gunk taking away my voice… It was trash day so I went out to put out the trash and recycling and found the end of my driveway plowed in. Again. took care of that and moved the cans. In my rest breaks I admired the flock of robins across the road and took a little video.

Hillside of robins
Fluttering over sumac
Stronger than winter.

Listen to the snow,
the blue jays and chickadees
shouting above it.

the wind and the snow
robins snacking on sumacs
rumbling snowplows.

A picture of Orion at midnight reminded me of this poem

Gently, Robert Frost,
well his words in any case,
spoke to us today.

And then of course, the Olympics…

Norwegian trousers
snappy, bright, colorful
Packed for the next match.

And finally, there was a push on to do more of the more boring quilting bits.
