Photos – WoW

Ok, not the ones you might be looking for. Several folks asked “well what is this World of Warcraft thing like?” and turns out I have a habit of taking screenshots of interesting things. Sometimes they’re interesting because it’s a landmark for my character or it might be just pretty scenery or a not-so-pretty beast. Anyway for your edification and amusement, go here. PS – trying to figure out what broke comments. Email me if you like.

Warez MB, Redux

Yeah I know – I have that whole “hiatus” thing going on and you’re thinking I don’t love you any more. No photos, no holiday report etc. Sorry. Read on.

MB is a level 47 arcane mage and if you’re in Echo Isle some night you can chat with her, summon her, use her mighty powers for your greater good, admire her beautiful chestnut mare, and generally get all the news of her life and quests.

If you’re more local to the States, you might have to call her or email her directly, eh?

No worries, all happy, just sort of off doing other quests at the moment.

Hello? Warez the blogger known as Mary Beth?

well, I did say I had a bad cold/respiratory thing at Christmas, right? That took me right through New Years and beyond. That would be bad enough, but I also have to step forward into the light and say:

Hello, I’m Mary Beth and I play World of Warcraft.

Other than that, nothing much, ok, nothing at all happening here. No snow, nothing exciting, nothing very photographical even. I do promise to get the much-awaited christmas present photos up this weekend. Promise. As soon as i level up and finish this quest. Promise.

Happy Holidays!

Wow, there’s not much sadder than a holiday cold, eh?  On the way home on Friday, I had a little shiver and then my nose just got out of control!  By the time I got home I was in full-blown cold mode.  Geesh.  Today thanks to the power of DayQuil I feel a little better but now it’s all in my throat and upper chest. I guess the weird hours of the past couple weeks with the mall crowds finally caught up to me.  Just another reason not to go to the mall.  I’m sure glad I’m not there today.  About an hour 20 minutes of shopping left for those crazy enough to still be out there.
Nevertheless, I have spent my time wrapping presents and instead of napping, I’m afraid I’ve been zoned out in World of Warcraft.  As a diversion there I am visiting the area known to my other night elf character.  Interesting fighting some of the beasts again, with different powers and a little more smarts.

Hope you and yours have all the best of the season, and may all your fruitcakes be good ones!

It’s all about the fruitcake

First off — don’t mess with women who are mailing out fruitcakes to friends and family. You will make a fool out of yourself and put yourself in line to miss out on some good fruitcake. Geesh.

Secondly — a moment of silence please to mark the passing of the “other” fruitcake lady, Marie Rudisill, author and frequent guest on the Jay Leno Show (be sure to watch the first video of Jay and Mel making fruitcake!). No speculation on the role of fruitcake in living to be 95, but why chance it. Eat more fruitcake in Marie’s honor this year. Turns out she’s the Capote connection….)

Last — hear this fruitcake lady on the CBC on Monday. I’ll be doing a short live interview on the Freestyle Show on CBC, also heard via Sirius radio. I’ll of course be representing The Society for the Protection and Preservation of Fruitcake. We’re a dedicated band that’s all about good fruitcake and the making and eating of same. Protecting its good name. Preserving it with some good brandy. Slicing it thin and passing it around the room for all to enjoy.
