View from the sewing room door

There are always some threads to finish and lint etc to remove, but all the handwork is done: binding on, sleeves on, label on. Done is done.

i love my cats

… I really do. I still do.

Yesterday I was asleep and I remember being aware of kicking my leg and thinking I’d pitched some cat off the bed. I was a little annoyed because I’d gone to bed not feeling 100% and was glad to be comfortably asleep. Oh well, poor cat.

I felt something on my leg and when i touched it, it was wet. oops – maybe I kicked for a reason? Finish waking up, look at my leg – some blood, all bright and running down a little but no big cuts. I figure I better go clean it up before the sheets get all messed up. I swing my leg over the edge and it’s like that scene from “The Godfather” – a *big* patch of bright blood under where my leg was. Must have dripped off because there honestly wasn’t that much on my leg! Holy mackerel. So I get up, pull the sheets, clean up my leg…

No cats around of course. Just a couple little punctures on my leg. Probably somebody jumped up and missed, grabbed on or whatever. I really wasn’t aware of anything happening of course, just the aftermath.

I’m ok and feel better, the sheets are OK, the cats are OK, we’re OK. They tried really really hard to suck up to me last night – all of them! Poor kitties don’t quite understand a closed sewing room door. At least when I’m at the computer they can take turns bugging me and sitting on my lap.

Half-way done

It’s true. Thanks to being a little under the weather, some pretty poor tv choices and a general lack of interest in dragon-killing, half the binding and one sleeve are sewn down! Woot!

Don’t miss Jean Redpath!

you might have been sleeping or just not able to get that channel (so much for digital TV….) but this is a beautiful performance and song. Jean Redpath and Jacqueline Schwab are a great combination!
