National Poetry Month Day #9

Well both the NaPoWriMo and the Not Without Poetry prompts made my head hurt some, but after pondering the former, I suddenly had a flash!

=================

Progression

A miss who is good for a smile.
A lake blue and clear and not vile.
A chat that turns ugly and bile.
A scene that is all in a pile.
A trial that may take awhile.
A defender not known for her guile.
A cake that is needing a file.
A lass whose metonymy shows style.
A miss is as good as a mile.

Gnomes?

I don’t think I can blame any gnomes for this. Darn.

National Poetry Month #8b

from the Not Without Poetry prompt this time:

Many nights in my driveway
I stand. Look up.
Feel small under the stars.
Quiet but for wind or snow
or peepers or crickets.
Feet from the car
and the front door.
Peaceful isn’t the pull.
Even if I live just outside of normal
this is my place in the world.

National Poetry Day #8

In response to the NaPoWriMo prompt #8:

Once on an April day in May
As I was travel’ing home
I chanced upon a garden gay
And in it sat a gnome.

His bright red cap stood high above
the flowers all about
His face shone bright with gardener’s love
Dear gnome, so cheer and stout.

Still pondering the Not Without Poetry Prompt about hope. Love the story leading into the prompt.

Meanwhile I’m to the outermost couple of squares all the way around. Had been stopped to do a little hand sewing needed but now hopefully it will go faster.
