World Watercolor Month Day #6

Just a quick paint tonight – it poured all day on and off in big loud gushes and was still raining but with more temperance as I came home. Stopped for dinner and started some laundry and then did this:

World Watercolor Month Day #5

I waited this morning for a package to arrive – early! – from Cheap Joe’s. This was the main event of the day because inside was this:

Then I did this, from a photo recently taken. Used a new-to-me blue – cobalt deep. oooh ahhh.

And finally I mixed up quite a bit of indigo and “finished” this piece started Tuesday in class and waited for it to dry before adding the tree trunks etc.

World Watercolor Month Day #4

Also known as the Fourth of July. Was so hot as I left work I decided to come home and find something to paint at my house. My one geranium has all its first flowers going on so I moved it to be in the view.

First this. Second night painting on this multimedia paper – Canson 98lb 9×12″. It’s smooth but also light so you have to be careful. No do-overs.

Then I did this of just the geranium, 4×6″ Canson Montval watercolor paper coldpress 140.

After scanning and exporting etc in Pixelmator, I tried a kaleidoscope effect on the first image and liked this one.

World Watercolor Month Day #3

It was nice being off three days. Did a lot of painting, had a nice day with Mom, went to watercolor class. Today, back to work. After work it was still about 90 and it was just bright and glare-y and meh sky.

Came home and put the new line in the weed-whacker and finished whacking the weeds (aka the front lawn). That was more than enough to send me inside!

I’d listened to and read too much news today and thought about how I was working in a mall on the fourth of July and how we’d be pretty busy tomorrow, on a “short” day while all the world craziness went on and even crazier.

So I painted this.

Watercolor Month Day #2

Wasn’t home til late last night but it doesn’t mean I wasn’t out there painting.

First, Mom and I went to the Schenectady Rose Garden which was beautiful, even as it was being dead-headed in prep for later re-blooming.

Then I had another watercolor class. I don’t think I managed to go as dramatic as the teacher was hoping and it was too wet to put in fine lines for tree trunks etc but whatchagonnado?
