Thank you, US government for sending me a passport today. My excitement was pretty high already but tonight when I sat down to look at it closely, I just loved the images on each page and, best of all, each page spread has a quote and nothing cheesy.

We all stand waiting
on the edge of then and now
what could be or not

That place where we wait
with yearning for what could be
and knowledge of now.

Our understanding
doesn’t lift the veil of want
or tamp our desires.

The rain falls gently
the world’s colors all subdued
with overlays of grey.

We are getting some rain (and some impressive lightning strikes!) for which I am grateful. The world was greyed and now as the light returns to the sky, the colors are deepening.

My online class started officially last night, well, midnight this morning. Better buckle down with those Grimm Fairy Tales. So far they seem to me about yearning for something better – the King to marry, the food to eat, preventing evil. Obedience, purity, finding a way to do what’s right – all valued. The evil witch, the silly rabbit, the troublemaker: all find their downfall in the end.

Since I’m not showing you quilt photos for various reasons, here are two photos from my sewing room tonight. I’m not going to start the third and last quilting color tonight. I’m going to do a little reading in the book of Grimm.

Today I listened to about half of The Martian Chronicles. More on this as the course goes on I think.
