I just hit submit on my small first essay for the Fantasy/Sci Fi course. 310 words of 320 allowed. As I was digitally scribbling and editing it struck me that all of this backing and forthing about the two stories I’d chosen to discuss was all in my head. I worked with The Twelve Brothers and The Six Swans and threw in a reference to Rhiannon in The Mabinogion for good measure.

My idea of taking a class where the teacher somehow guides you to new learning and ideas… hmmmm. I read, I thought, I wrote. Got it. Well I get to read four essays written by others which should be interesting. Maybe that will reveal some things I hadn’t thought much about.

I’m glad the length is so short. Hard to be über-scholarly and pompous when so limited! LOL Maybe someone will find my Mabinogion reference over the top.

Listening to Alice in Wonderland (lobster quadrille!) but am quite confused since the recording was promised to be Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass with Cybill Shepherd and Lynn Redgrave but the four parts will more likely turn out to be just Wonderland and Cybill.

I got no explanation. I sent in a troubleshooting email and received a reply from Upper Hudson library as though the troubleshooting report was being sent to me to fix. I guess library patrons must be extra self-sufficient and resourceful?

Bobbin out, 4 bobbins wound, machine re-threaded. Bobbin 14 ready to go, 4 in wait.
