Day off

Where’ve you been? Whatcha do?

  • I voted in the primary
  • I decided to take the train to NYC for the Take This Job and Love It event.
  • I looked around and found there was a bare AAA discount and threw that in as I made my reservation.
  • I printed out all the paper tickets and stuck them into a folder
  • Had lunch
  • Did a load of wash
  • Getting ready for night three of Der Ring des Nibelungen – promises to be as long as last night..
  • etc etc etc

On a different poetic page

Mom gave me this little volume tonight. I haven’t found a lot about it other than that similar collections were published in different countries and for quite a number of years. This might have been one of three volumes in a set.

Scott's Poetical Works

I’m holding back the tissue separator so you can see both the engraving of the author and the facing title page. It has a number of -no surprise- very long poems including The Lady of the Lake.

#Geek out #haiku

when we’re geeking out
they can dangle shiny things
and we will swallow.

While I am eating
I am watching the liveblog
and feeling geeky.

Oh, technology!
We’re slaves to your shininess!
May we have the new?
