The problem with lists #haiku
A cold wind bloweth
Last night while I was chatting with Mom, there was a sound at the window. We kept chatting. Wow, I typed – that’s some wind coming through. I flipped over to a screenful of weather and it showed a big edge of weather just coming into my area. It blew like the dickens (isn’t that a great phrase?) for about ten minutes as the warm, rainy weather was replaced with a big mass of cold air.
I mentioned to the cats this morning that yes indeed I would start buttoning up the windows and getting ready for winter. It is definitely on the way!
Things seen while doing something else steampunk category
One of the first people I encountered this morning was a youngish woman, smartly dressed, not quite steampunk but it had that feel. More like everyday casual steampunk which of course wouldn’t be very casual at all. Anyway every little thing she was wearing was interesting but most of all I couldn’t stop looking at this triangular “necklace” she was wearing.
It was macrame and made from black ribbon. Each knot had a two little ends so there was a lot of fluttery texture but nothing too-too. It was just perfect under her nicely fitted jacket.
When I admired it, she beamed and said her sister had sent it from Hong Kong.
There you have it – even I can admire a good steampunk.
What to be when you grow up

As to what I would like to be, it is difficult to say. An artist of some kind. If nothing else I shall always study the Arts. — Jackson Pollock
Noon Today! No One… #haiku #haikupedia
Someone asked me today if they could ask me the question of the day, that question he already knew the answer to and that question he was sure I knew which one. I couldn’t help myself. I said: if you will allow me, I will answer that question without ever having seen the question. This question has been hermetically sealed and kept in a mayonnaise jar on funk and wagnall’s doorstep since noon today…”
He was probably too young to get that reference but we both had a good laugh about it. And I did answer no to the question that went unspoken for the entire phone call. I suggested he could google “funk and wagnall’s doorstep”. I did that and found it should have been “porch” according to wikipedia. I remain unconvinced about that. Regardless, it means I owe you some haiku.
