I read Carla’s tutorial today on using the transparency of watercolors and the different effects of markers and pencils and paint together. I thought I’d wait til tomorrow to do whatever comes next but I found myself trying just the effects.

The sun is out after several grey and flurrying kind of days. Printed out the forms I need to fill out and feel virtuous about it. I might go to a poetry thing tonight just to see how the playing field feels.

Then a link from a friend led me to this. First off, I don’t know how Ginger so thoroughly manages to keep your eye while Fred is singing. But people! Look at her feet! She’s got flats on which may be the most amazing thing ever in a Fred and Ginger routine.

Apart from that, there was a recent English Country Dance List discussion about ranting and how it’s not all the acrobatics that people make it out to be. I agree with that, and notice here that the feet never leave their legs and there’s usually at least one on the floor. It’s not that they don’t sometimes kick it up, but that when they do it’s important and a nice emphasis. Was reminded by sister grammazon Holly late in the day but that won’t happen again. Next year, expect anticipatory notices so we can celebrate National Grammar Day properly!
