Many geese flying over head in the night.

The 27th of March

The warmth of late march
finally a hint of spring
with a breath of birds.

The birds of spring come
flowing up the warm currents
sparkling in the sky.

Smallest of crocus
hiding in the pathway grass
surprising my feet.

What? Wednesday?

So confused day-wise but I didn’t complain heading out to a sunny day this morning. Warm enough for a sweater. Nice, nice, nice.

Otherwise the day was pretty ordinary.

But this close to real spring is enough to get past ordinary to pretty darn good.

Life with cats, No. 47

Get into bed and I’m teasing Archie that they hadn’t warmed it up first by laying all over it and he walks up close and puts his head near mine. I lean over a little closer to give him some ear kisses and he head bumps me BLAM right on the nose.

oh! I say.

And he does it again because that’s how much he loves me.

Then he did the thing where I was trying to pat his body but he was leaning full body weight against my hand… whatta goof.

Oh cats…

Happy Birthday Robert Frost

I think sometimes that people are put off by Frost’s recitations but to me they sound very new england-y. Plus, not everyone is a public speaker just as everyone is not a poet like Robert Frost!

But still, I take the image of someone who pauses in the dark to look around and listen to the world and to see its beauty, knowing that he won’t stay because he has yet miles to go. In the moment of connection, however brief, we can all note the beauty and darkness around us.

Here’s another often quoted poem of Frost’s (and often mis-interpreted…) by another reader sounding very mysterious:
