Howdy all!

After saying how good I was doing for posting this year, the past few days I’ve been quiet. Too quiet. (not quiet enough you say? mmmHmmmm)

So what’s happening? Tomorrow night a group of us are going to the opening of the new Star Trek film, Into Darkness. Although it seems funny to me, this idea of seeing the opening of a film at midnight, it seems like a good idea. First off, these viewers are probably pretty serious and excited about seeing it. And that late, only kids who have really sworn all sorts of promises of good behavior will be there.

I never really “got” going to movies on a date but going with a group of people who are all interested in seeing the same thing is fun in a good kind of way.

I suppose on a geek level, who wouldn’t go see a long-awaited movie as soon as they could? That way you can read all the reviews and discuss them intelligently and the next day you can ask people casually, “so did you see the new XYZ film? Oh, not yet?”

And while I don’t get all dressed up for movies, you’ll remember that I got out my shaker cloak for the Hobbit opening. Tomorrow night I’ll be decked out as follows:

That just arrived in the mail today, to replace one I had long ago. Long ago. That one had two lapel pin type things on it which, let me tell ya, made it really uncomfy to wear. This one has a brilliant design – a magnet (AMAZING MAGNETIC CLASP!) on the back and a flat plate with a matching magnet. So you just let the magnets hold it onto your shirt or sweater or whatever. No pin backs!

Welcome to spring in New England.

So yes, I did cover up my few plants in pots after putting them on the screened porch. Sleep tight guys!

And yes! Double rainbows! OMG double rainbow!

It was great seeing one rainbow after another all the way home. Maybe the start to a new something – rainbows in all directions!

May what haiku?

a little recharging
rest before continuing,
haiku to follow.

The warmth now in May
may be more like that of June
but quicker to turn.

Get out short-sleeved shirts?
Some days still need the long sleeves
or wear a sweater.
