Got Legos? Still have a few marbles?

This morning I found a site full of pretty amazing marble machines, many of which involved a small hand-crank to power them. There were links to other cool ones like this.

It filled me with fond memories of the marble machines scattered across Pinewoods Camp, made by Tom Senior. Some were vertical and some wandered back and forth on various walls. Some bathrooms had them which made for sweet chiming noises coming from small wooden buildings here and there. Sometimes there would be one at auction and it would be cause ferociously bidding until someone won that year’s treasure.

Things Seen On The Way To Work

June Commute

Two buzzards
swirling the dense, still air
against a rippling scarf
pale clouds and sky
wrapping up the moon
gibbous and waning,
portending.
A June morning,
the seers of ending,
coming rain,
darkness.

And a special note to Jeremy, the Happiness Engineer at WordPress/Automattic who fixed my stats so they continued on to the new site. Many Thanks – you earned your title yesterday and you certainly made this small-time blogger happy!

Robert Genn on Being Stuck

May I not forget that poverty and riches are of the spirit. Though the world knows me not, may my thoughts and actions be such as will keep me friendly with myself. – Max Ehrmann

Robert Genn with some good insights on why people get stuck, although the “just get over it” part of it was a little wanting in my opinion. Still and all worth the read though.

From the new host, the mostly-old-site

There’s still work to do here in terms of fixing categories, tags, links but things seem to be mostly working and should look familiar. I’m going to start posting here while continuing to work behind the scenes.  In a short while the quiltr dot com web address will actually be here not just bring you here. Will let you know when the artsroundup address won’t work any longer. (If you find anything seriously broken other than links, categories and tags feel free to drop me a line but I probably have it on my to do list.)

This will be only the second major move for this blog, starting out on blogger and moving to wordpress on one host and now moving to a second hosting company. The goal is to get all my domains under one roof and most of them actually parked where the pages live. Pointing is ok, but meh.

For those who have been waiting for something new from me, how about the annual photo of primroses, a June event?
