Robert Genn 1936-2014

The thing about art is that life is in no danger of being meaningless. — Robert Genn

The community tied together by the emailed newsletters of Robert Genn and lately his daughter Sara, received news tonight that Robert died earlier this week.

Art is something else. Art is fluid, transmutable, open-ended, never complete, and never perfect. Art is an event. — Robert Genn

We live our short spans in the vortex of a miracle, and while we may not be the center of that vortex, it is magic to be anywhere in there. — Robert Genn

Thank you to Robert for years of thoughtful encouragement and teaching.

Morning gift

There on the front walk
Barely twitching waterbug
A gift this morning

I’d like to make a complaint

Good thing I know how to restore my iPhone from a back up because otherwise I’d have to complain to someone about how it… Well whatever, it’s fine now.

The Quote Box, ever growing

According to my nefarious accounting devices* The Quote Box now holds one thousand nine hundred and nine distinct quotes.

Time to get it up to an even 2K, eh?

* throw them all into BBEdit and search all returns, since for the rotating quotes to work here each quote has to exist separated by a hard return.
