What’s that you say? Bloggers doing their thing?

Day eight of NaNoWriMo and I take a break to catch up on a few of the blogs I enjoy. One of them tells that she’s doing NaBloPoMo – interpreted to be National Blog Posting Month where participants pledge to post every day for the month of November. Wow – can you imagine a merger of NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo? A month of writing fifty thousand words for your blog readers LOL! That might be a little much since NaNoWriMo encourages un-edited writing but hey for a month, it could work.

Good news, although it hasn’t been every day, I have more blog posts this month than days, so I guess I’m good.

What are you listening to, MB?

Holed up working on NaNoWriMo and listening to a playlist called MB’s Quiet Music which does has some very quiet music but also contains some of my favorite dance music. If you want to see the whole current thing, you can click on the image below. It’s good because it’s instrumental music. While I’m winging things through the sewing machine I tend to sing along with another playlist and that works for that.

and here’s the quote I saw in the sidebar while I was writing:

The real issue in life is not how many blessings we have, but what we do with our blessings. Some people have many blessings and hoard them. Some have few and give everything away. — Fred Rogers a.k.a. Mister Rogers

MB, what about NaNoWriMo?

Day five, what have I been doing?

I am playing a bit of rebel-NaNoWriMo this year. Having worked at the story for quite awhile, I really wanted to fix the main problem with the plot (not enough of a conflict to be resolved) and to tighten up other areas.

So on day one I started reading, doing minor re-writes, adding a word or two, deleting a phrase as I went. It’s been awhile since I just read and if they say ‘write the book you want to read’ I’m good with it. I just like these guys. I like the young female main for her seriousness and bits of sly friendliness. I like her companions plain out funniness. I could go on, but I’ll go back to reading and re-writing.

Today at lunch time I quickly ate my packed sandwich and then headed out to sit in the comfy chairs out in the mall. I could have just stayed out there and read the afternoon away…
