The return of a cat who’s smart enough to get under the covers. The pointiness of said cat. The ridiculously loud purring of said cat.
The other cat just plasters himself against my hip and shoots me a look when I fidget or roll over.

This morning it was darn cold when I left for work. Once I got closer to Albany, it started to snow. Lightly, small flakes, dry, fluffy snow.
I could hardly drive because I was so fascinated by the snow on the highway, being blown around by the passing cars. I swear to you it was moving from side to side of the three lane side of I-90 in perfect sine waves. I have no explanation for this; I have no proof of it; I’m glad to be still alive despite it; but that’s what I saw.
Three lanes of morning commute and the cold, cold snow slithering along the highway from side to side in perfect waves.

I’ve mentioned 9 Chickweed Lane a few times over the years. When I first started reading it, there was a romance firing up between the two main characters, on display for all the world to see during a major cello competition. It was such a compelling story (ok and rather juicy) that if I woke up in the middle of the night, I’d check to see if the newest installment had arrived on my phone yet.
Today, we reached a point in a new story that has been going on since November 25th, 2013. Yes, that’s right, a major story arc that’s been going on for more than a year and without the two main characters. There have been a few little holidays and Sundays away from this plot but mainly it’s been two to four panels of beautiful drawing and clever story and dialogue crafting to push us to…
…today.
Today’s installment seems to me to be the pinnacle of this story although I feel there must be more to bring it all to the conclusion and back to the current day players. There will be sadness and tears, to be sure, along with some discoveries. But today, three panels that are just epic in that it took more than a year to get to this very moment and point and the last panel’s two words.
