Accidental Haiku

Yes, it does happen sometimes. I’m messaging with someone or even talking, and I count on my fingers and sure enough: seventeen syllables. The first one below snuck into a conversation that had begun with a mention of laundry. I posted three responses and then… yup, accidental haiku.

woot! all good clean fun
maybe a little wrinkled
and a missing sock

accidental haiku
what happens when messaging
and it’s seventeen

accidental haiku
discovered in a message
always make me laugh

even accidental โ€”
even without some context โ€”
unconscious haiku

Another lunchtime drawing and postcards

I started this today at lunch, from a photo taken of my front porch. Fiddled around with the drawing more tonight and added a lot of the shading and stuff in color.

That sudden view, of change

Thanks to Elizabeth Gordon for a second thought on my day yesterday which got me thinking and got this first draft down today.

Today at work there were many visitors
from different stores and offices loaned
working side by side with us as we worked
doing our normal work things but
in this sea of many just like us but
not us at all, just as we in our place
were not them, not their co-workers
