(Mental notes, if you\u2019re driving!) On the bus, on the subway, in the car, walking to work, to school. Then write a poem that narrates the process of getting from Point A to Point B. Try to recapture not only the sights and sounds of your trip, but your mental state. Are you jittery? Sleepy? If you\u2019re on public transportation, what\u2019s the mood of your bus, subway car, etc? If you\u2019re on the highway, is there gridlock? Is the sun shining? Are you happy to be going where you\u2019re going? Who will you see when you get there? Try to keep the poem in the present tense.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>morning most mixed up<\/p>\n<p>did I really brush my teeth?<br \/>\nis the mail here?<br \/>\nLook! my packages!<br \/>\nooooh books!<br \/>\nmy jewelry! ooooh!<br \/>\ndid I brush my teeth?<br \/>\nI should comb my hair.<br \/>\ncool book.<br \/>\nphone? really?<br \/>\nwho?<br \/>\nrealtor?<br \/>\noh, ok. Everything&#8217;s good.<br \/>\nthank you. thanks for calling.<br \/>\nuh huh.<br \/>\n(have to go to work like now!)<br \/>\nok thanks.<br \/>\nnow! must go now!<br \/>\nputting on new earrings!<br \/>\ncool.<br \/>\nok. off to work.<br \/>\nwhat? I didn&#8217;t feed you?<br \/>\nreally?<br \/>\nok. oops better get more food<br \/>\ntonight.
