I brush the clouds away
\nSee their tails fading
\nagainst the blue?
\nand chase the leaves away
\nfrom the edges
\nof your garden.
\nIn autumn, I set
\nthe bulbs to sleep
\nand the plants to rest
\nbefore the snow.
\nYour windows wore my paint
\neach January morning
\nthe needles and ropes
\nof a night’s designing.
\nCome March, I nudge
\nand tug the things
\nto place again
\nto bloom and sway
\nfor you, m’lady. For you.
\nSummer I cannot stay
\nwithin the house
\nthe fields and greens call
\nthe nights long to dance
\nthe moon warm and bright
\nthe sun hot and drowsy
\nwe dance with the world
\nin its fullness.
\nTiptoeing in late
\nI brush the clouds away
\nfrom your dreams,
\nbrush the care
\nfrom your brows,
\nbefore I rest myself.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
