They say we steal babies
\nbut honestly
\nthey’s bad ones everywhere
\nWe don’t steal babies.
\nWe love them.
\nWe see you love yours
\nas our mothers loved us.
\nDo you hear your babe laugh
\nwhen we tickle her chin?
\nYour son tells us a tale
\nwhile stacking his blocks.
\nWe’ve watched over your parents
\nand you and now yours.
\nYou’re needing no fear.<\/p>\n

At night I sneak out of the cupboard
\nto look for a drink.
\nI have to wait for the faucet to drip.
\nI find a crumb to nibble,
\nA nut under the table.
\nI look in on your babies
\nso sweet in their cribs.
\nI look in on you dreaming,
\nwondering why you can’t
\nspare a pity for us
\nso while I’m thinking
\nof your sweet granddad
\nwho never forgot us,
\nI tie a few knots in your hair.
\nThen I take a sock.\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
