Went out and around today, getting this and that. Have to say the best part of the day though was coming out to my car at the Tru-Value Hardware store at 4 and 9&20. In the back of the car was a huge box, warranting having both rear seats down, and things were a bit disheveled in the front seat too. I opened the car with my über-fob and then a little car pulled up on the other side of my car and the driver gave me a friendly little wave through his open window.

“What is this?” the biker-dude-driver asked pointing at my car.

“It’s a 2012 FIAT,” I replied, going around to their side of the car and patting the little argento jellybean.

“Whoa – really new!” he said. “And what kind of mileage?”

“About 40, but I’m still adjusting to the different new clutch.”

This made his face all kinds of astonished.

“What’s it, start around twenty?”

“Oh no – they start around fifteen something”

“And who around here sells FIATs?

“Armory, over in Albany.”

“Whoa. Thank you so much!”

“You’re welcome – they’re fun to drive.”

All the while a multiple-lip-and-other-wise-pierced younger being looked on with amazement from the passenger seat.

And that, my friends, is what the holiday spirit is all about!
