Added the column I&#8217;d left off, to give me a bit of leeway for squaring up the whole thing to size. It&#8217;s very very hard to do all this piecing and presumably a lot of quilting and have it come out to the required size without some way to trim it down at the very end. Not my preferred thing, for sure.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway. My next decision before starting to sew has to be to stick with a modified version of my original twelve month long plan and piece in the bits of yellow or go with some other attack like raw edge applique or whatever. I guess I&#8217;ll have to ponder a bit &#8211; starting out piecing and then wishing I&#8217;d pieced in the bits would be non-productive.<\/p>\n<p>In this picture, the squares are compressed vertically.
