See, I lay down my weapon, unbroken
\nI lie down beside it. Gazing upward
\nthe black-blue swirls, the glittering pathway
\nspins from one outstretched hand to another.
\nThe ground beneath my shoulders, cold and hard
\nThe ground beneath me disappearing. Now
\nthe night has sheathed us both, my sword and I
\nNow the power draws us out – without words,
\nwithout sound, without knowledge, it casts us,
\nonly the fateless would think it random.
\nI lie down with the weapon given me
\nI gather the power seeping upward
\nI am cast to the inky galaxy
