Tolkien\" target=\"_blank\">The Silmarillion<\/a> sitting on a table. <\/p>\n<p>I ask aloud, &#8220;who is reading this copy of Silmarillion?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A young man admits to this, a little sheepishly. He also admits that he just finished The Hobbit and this was his next step.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;How&#8217;s it going?&#8221; I ask.<\/p>\n<p>He says he&#8217;s just starting it but that it&#8217;s pretty dense. I allow as it&#8217;s downright biblical in some parts and he laughs when I tell him I read parts of it aloud to the cats in order to get through the denser parts. I make encouraging noises.
